Based in Abuja, discussing Gombe
Gombe is not a chapter of Alberto Micheletti’s documented career. That record is Lagos, then Ibadan, then Abuja, where he has led Micheletti Construction Limited since May 2012. This page exists because the company will discuss building and roofing in Gombe when someone asks, not because a branch was opened and not because a project board is standing there. There is no street address to print, no list of local staff, and no gallery. A visit, if the work fits, is at the property.
Read Abuja for the city where the managing director’s role is publicly placed, and Kano for the other northern city on this site. They are not the same town. Gombe’s problem, in the research, is a savanna capital on sloping ground that floods and gullies. Kano’s problem is a much larger dry city with a dense old core and a short wet season. Copying one page onto the other would be a lie about both.
A savanna capital under an escarpment
Gombe became a state capital in the 1990s and has grown fast around an older town. Geographers describe it at the foot of the Akko escarpment, on a shallow dish of a site, with streams that run off the higher ground and through the town. The climate in the papers is tropical continental, Koppen Aw: a dry season and a single wet season. One account puts the rain between May and September, peaking in August, with average annual rainfall about 863 millimetres. Another puts about 835 millimetres over May to September. Humidity in those descriptions is high in August and very low in the harmattan. Some planning notes stretch the wet season from April to October. The durable point for a builder is a single peak, not Lagos’s long season and not a second rain after an August lull.
The construction consequence is runoff. Researchers have mapped flood risk in Pantami, the GRA, Tudun Wada, Dawaki, Federal Low-Cost, Bolari, Jekadafari, Herwagana, and Shamaki, among others, and they describe gullies cutting through a town whose built-up area has spread onto ground that used to take the water. A roof can be sound and the compound still flood. A new floor level that ignores the road and the gully will be a wet room in August. We ask whether water arrives only when it rains on the roof, or also when the street runs. We do not turn those studies into a list of Micheletti projects, and we do not repeat damage figures from the newspapers.
The residential mix
The GRA and the low-cost estates are not the old centre. Federal Low-Cost, State Low Cost, and the GRA are planned residential ground. Pantami, Tudun Wada, Bolari, Madaki, Jekadafari, Herwagana, and Arawa are named again and again in the urban studies as the neighbourhoods where people actually live, some of them downstream of the escarpment. Tumfure comes up in infrastructure writing as part of the uphill expansion. A renovation in a low-cost house and a new build on the expanding edge do not share a scaffold problem or a flood problem.
Say the neighbourhood on the form. A gate in the GRA, a tight plot in the older town, and a compound near a gully are three different visits. New builds, renovations, and extensions are the residential trades. An extra room that sends its roof water into a neighbour’s compound, or into a gully head, is a design question, not a surprise for the first storm.
Commercial work, without a contract list
Gombe is an administrative capital, so the commercial stock is offices, shops in the centre, and sheds and yards on the edge where the town has spread. A shop on a street that floods is a trading problem and a floor-level problem. A small warehouse needs a span and a gutter that can take an August storm without dumping the yard. An office that stays occupied needs a programme that does not open the whole roof at once. Commercial building is the company-wide note. This section is only the Gombe version of it.
We do not name clients, ministries, or contract values. We do not show a photograph and call it ours. Tell us the use, the neighbourhood, and which part has to keep working. Cost follows access, height, materials, whether the ground floods, and whether the work can wait until after the August peak. No sample figure is printed, in naira or otherwise.
Roofing on this ground
Sheets and tiles still have to shed a short, hard season and then sit through harmattan. Dust in the valleys and a gutter that cannot take a cloudburst are the failures to expect, together with water that never came from the roof at all. Roofing, repairs, replacement, metal roofing, and inspections describe the covering. On a Gombe house, an inspection that does not look at the compound and the nearest gully is an incomplete visit. Structural repairs are the conversation when walls have moved because the ground has, not when the only stain is a lap.
Use the quote form and choose Gombe, then the area: Pantami, Tudun Wada, the GRA, Bolari, Jekadafari, Federal Low-Cost, or wherever the property actually is. You can also chat on WhatsApp at +234 803 667 9688. That is the only number on this site. A national construction page for Gombe, separate from this company site, is nigeriabuilding.com/gombe-construction. A national roofing page is roofingnigeria.com/gombe-roofing. A request that starts here is still read by Micheletti Construction in Abuja.
Questions
Is there a Micheletti Construction office in Gombe?
No. Micheletti Construction Limited is based in Abuja, where Alberto Micheletti has been managing director since May 2012. This page says the company will discuss building and roofing in Gombe. It does not publish a Gombe address, local staff names, or photographs of finished jobs.
Why do floods come up on a Gombe building page?
Because researchers describe a savanna town on a shallow site below the Akko escarpment, where short hard rains run off built-up ground into gullies and into houses. Pantami, Tudun Wada, Federal Low-Cost, Bolari, and Jekadafari are among the areas named in those flood accounts. A roof quote that ignores the ground will miss half the problem. We do not treat a study of past damage as a list of our projects.
How is the rainy season different from Kano and from Lagos?
Published descriptions of Gombe put a single wet season roughly from May to September, or April to October in some accounts, with the peak in August and annual rainfall on the order of about 835 to 863 millimetres. Kano’s rain is also a short savanna season, but Gombe’s extra problem in the literature is runoff and gully erosion on a sloping town, not only dust on a sheet. Lagos is a long coastal wet season. They are not the same specification.
Do you publish prices for Gombe?
No. Access, whether the house sits in a flood path, storey height, materials, and whether the job can avoid the August peak all change the figure. A number is discussed after you send a quote request with contact details, and after a look at the property.
