Based in Abuja, discussing Kano
The public career of Alberto Micheletti is Lagos, then Ibadan, then Abuja. Those chapters are not relocated to Kano on this page. He was a project manager in Lagos and a manager in Ibadan in those years, and he has led Micheletti Construction Limited from Abuja since May 2012. Kano is a city where the same company will look at a building or a roof if you ask. There is no published Kano street, no local staff list, and no gallery. If a visit is the right next step, it is arranged at the property after the quote.
The company notes for the cities already on the public record are Abuja, Lagos, and Ibadan. Commercial buildings in the FCT have their own page at Abuja commercial. Kano is additional ground, not a second headquarters.
A dry city with a short, hard wet season
Kano sits in the savanna, far from the Atlantic. A study of thermal comfort in urban Kano describes a tropical wet-and-dry climate: high temperature and low humidity in the dry season, with an average maximum around the high thirties Celsius in April. Relative humidity in that account runs from very low in March to markedly higher in the wet months. Four main wet months, June to September, carry most of the rain, and August is the peak. Mean annual rainfall in that description is on the order of about 800 millimetres toward the drier north of the area and higher farther south. Harmattan dust is part of the long dry season, not a brief inconvenience.
That calendar is not the Lagos pattern of a long coastal wet season and salt air, and it is not a copy of Abuja with the name changed. Dust sits on sheets and in gutters for months. Then a few weeks of heavy rain, especially in August, test every outlet at once. A roof that looked acceptable in the dry harmattan can overflow in a single storm because the valley was a tray of fines. Open blockwork in April meets heat. An open roof in August meets the year’s heaviest rain. We programme around that. We do not promise a crew on a named morning.
The same study describes the old municipal core as dense, with buildings close together and a strong urban-heat effect. A renovation there is not the same job as a house on a planned GRA plot. Access is through narrow streets. Scaffold and a delivery have less room. Heat builds between walls that shade each other poorly. Say which part of Kano the property is in.
Places that are not interchangeable
Kano Municipal is the old centre. Work there starts with a tight plot, an occupied house, and neighbours close enough that a stripped roof is everyone’s problem for the week it is open. Nassarawa GRA is the other end of the same city: larger residential plots, the sort of address Daily Trust has described among Kano’s costly residential areas, with gates and a different delivery problem. Sabon Gari is the commercial neighbourhood of shops and mixed housing. A leak over a shop that has to stay open is not a quiet domestic repair.
Bompai is documented as both commercial and residential, with company premises as well as houses. Sharada, with Chalawa, is described as an industrial zone of factories. A shed roof there is a span and a yard. A house in Nassarawa is a gate and a storey height. We will not write one quote as if those were the same building. Naming the areas is not a client list.
Building and roofing
The company offers the same trades it offers from Abuja: new builds, renovations, extensions, commercial building, structural repairs, and roofing. In Kano the covering is usually a metal sheet or a tile that spends most of the year in dust and sun, then takes a short series of hard storms. Metal roofing, repairs, replacement, and inspections are the roofing conversations. Fasteners, laps, and gutters matter more than a slogan about northern roofing. A flat or a parapet that ponds is a different failure from a hole in a sheet, and we look before we name it.
An extension in the old city has little room to grow sideways. An extra floor asks the walls below it, in a fabric that is already dense. A new build on a clearer plot still has to close the roof before the August peak if the programme hopes to keep the rooms dry. We do not publish a fee for approvals. Where an authority requires one, it is identified for the plot, not copied onto this page as a national figure.
Commercial work, without a project list
Offices and houses in Bompai, shops in Sabon Gari, and factories in Sharada are the commercial mix this page will discuss. A shop has to trade. A shed has to keep a bay dry while the sheet is off. An office in a mixed street has tenants who do not leave because a contractor arrived. Tell us which part must stay open. We do not print client names or contract values. There is no sample price, in naira or otherwise. The number, if the work is one we can take, comes after the quote and a look.
Use the quote form and choose Kano, then the neighbourhood. You can also chat on WhatsApp at +234 803 667 9688. That is the only number published on this site. A national construction page for Kano, which is not this company site, is nigeriabuilding.com/kano-construction. A national roofing page is roofingnigeria.com/kano-roofing. A request that starts here is still read by Micheletti Construction in Abuja.
Questions
Is there a Micheletti Construction office in Kano?
No. The company is Micheletti Construction Limited, and Alberto Micheletti has been managing director in Abuja since May 2012. This page says the company will discuss building and roofing in Kano. It does not publish a Kano address, a local staff list, or a gallery of finished jobs.
How is Kano’s rain different from Lagos or Abuja?
Kano’s climate is a tropical wet-and-dry savanna. A study of urban Kano describes four main wet months, June to September, with August taking a large share of the year’s rain, and a long hot dry season with very low humidity. Harmattan dust is a stronger part of the year than it is on the coast. It is not Lagos salt air, and it is not Abuja’s longer single wet season copied north.
Which Kano areas can the form name?
Any real one. This page discusses Kano Municipal and the old city, Nassarawa GRA, Sabon Gari, Bompai, and Sharada because those places are documented. Naming them is not a claim that we have a finished job in each.
Do you publish a price for work in Kano?
No. Haulage from a yard, storey height, whether the building stays occupied, the material, and whether the job can wait until after the August rains all change the figure. A number is discussed after a quote request, once we have contact details and have looked at the property.
